Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assist in the assembly of menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Cook and plate dishes efficiently while maintaining high quality, presentation, and food safety standards
- Support kitchen operations by organizing workstations, stocking supplies, and ensuring cleanliness throughout the shift
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations
- Assist with menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods
- Collaborate with team members to deliver timely service during busy periods, supporting catering and special events as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of food preparation processes and adhere to all safety protocols
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department, dietary aide role, or restaurant environment preferred but not required; willingness to learn is highly valued
- Strong food preparation, cooking, and knife skills with an understanding of food handling safety practices
- Experience with meal preparation, food service, and catering is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and a positive attitude toward learning new techniques
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or evenings as needed
