Responsibilities
- Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, and other construction management tools to develop comprehensive project bids.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis including material costs, subcontractor quotes, equipment needs, and labor rates to create precise budgets.
- Manage multiple estimating projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams through negotiation to establish competitive pricing strategies that align with project goals.
- Review contracts, scope of work documents, and project specifications to ensure all estimates are complete and compliant with industry standards.
- Assist in managing project budgets by monitoring cost control measures throughout the construction process.
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to identify potential cost-saving opportunities or risks early in the planning phase.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to gather quotes, clarify project details, and negotiate favorable terms.
- Support project management teams by providing detailed estimates that inform scheduling, procurement, and resource allocation decisions.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator within the commercial construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and technical specifications accurately.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on cost management and budget adherence.
- Solid understanding of construction management processes including contracts, scope review, material cost estimating, and project budgeting.
- Hands-on construction site experience is highly desirable to better understand on-the-ground realities impacting estimates.
- Excellent negotiation skills coupled with effective client communication abilities to foster positive relationships.
- Familiarity with construction estimating best practices for both commercial projects and general contracting environments.

Pay: $66,703.42 - $80,331.00 per year
