Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Child Care Director to lead and oversee the daily operations of our childcare center. This energetic leader will ensure a safe, nurturing, and educational environment where children can thrive. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in early childhood education, exceptional leadership skills, and a genuine commitment to supporting children’s developmental needs. As Child Care Director, you will be the driving force behind creating an engaging atmosphere that promotes growth, learning, and well-being for every child in our care.
Duties
- Manage daily center operations, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and safety standards.
- Lead and supervise teaching staff, providing guidance on classroom management, childhood development instruction, and behavior management strategies.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that support early childhood education and preschool learning objectives.
- Foster positive relationships with parents through clear communication about their child's progress, developmental milestones, and any concerns.
- Oversee child supervision to ensure safety at all times, including infant care, toddler care, and classroom activities.
- Conduct regular staff training on topics such as first aid, pediatric first aid, mandated reporting laws, special education needs, and working with children with disabilities.
- Maintain accurate records related to child attendance, health information, incident reports, and licensing documentation.
- Promote a welcoming environment that encourages curiosity, socialization, and emotional development among children.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in daycare centers or early childhood education settings; preschool experience is highly preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills with knowledge of childhood development instruction and behavior management techniques.
- Certification in first aid and CPR (Childhood First Aid & Pediatric First Aid preferred).
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus.
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws and compliance standards for childcare facilities.
- Excellent parent communication skills to foster trust and transparency with families.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience supervising staff and managing center operations.
- Background in early childhood education or related field; additional certifications in special education or nannying are advantageous.
