SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Project Engineer is responsible for providing support and assistance to the project management team, with a focus on learning the skills to develop into a Project Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform administrative tasks according to the Project Manager’s instructions and ensure smooth communication between all relevant parties.
- Assist with the compilation and tracking of RFI’s, Submittals, Shop Drawings, and any other contract or project documents.
- Review project drawings and specifications, and understand the requirements for the contracted scope of work
- Assist with compilation of change orders (including pricing, scoping, and tracking). Work on developing estimating skills.
- Update and manage documents in all project management systems (DDL’s and client’s), ensuring current data is stored accurately and timely, organized as per DDL protocol and client requirements.
- Ability to communicate with vendors and suppliers to procure submittals.
- Develop and track project submittal logs.
- Review drawings and specifications and develop Requests For Information (RFI’s) for the project team. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and internal resources to ensure RFI’s are written strategically and address/documents any risks or gaps.
- Create and distribute and maintain AHA’s (Activity Hazard Analysis).
- Coordinate and manage project subcontractors, seismic vendors, controls subcontractors.
- Maintain professional and timely communication with internal stakeholders as well as general contractor, A&E team, owner, subcontractors, various company divisions and other key participants.
- Assist with tracking and documenting the warranty and/or maintenance periods.
- Assist with close-out requirements. Develop O&M manuals, training programs requirements
- Support and participate in the company safety program.
- Perform other duties and tasks as requested by management.
