Hours vary by position but are approximately 5:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. or 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Primary Responsibilities
Operates various types of solid waste collection trucks, mechanisms for loading, compressing, and dumping refuse and recycling material.
Drivers to designated areas to deliver, dump or pick up containers and refuse.
Requirements
Must be willing to work Monday through Friday, and an occasionally a Saturday
Able to recognize unacceptable waste (such as gasoline and other flammable, hazardous materials) and report it to the driver.
Must have valid CDL class A or B driver’s license.
Must have and maintain valid medical card.
Ability to lift up to 80 pounds repeatedly during a shift.
Physically capable of walking, jogging, bending, climbing, lifting, carrying heavy bags from curbside to the rear hopper of the truck.
Sufficient stamina for steady work pace through an entire shift.
Works outdoors in all weather conditions and wears appropriate clothing for the season.
Must be willing to be on time and maintain a good working attendance.
Must be able to pass a drug test.
