This is a general labor position in manufacturing/production line, that will support various plant floor operations and require the operation of multiple stations and machinery in a safe manner. This position will also be responsible for performing maintenance on plant equipment. The position will require the flexibility to learn and be assigned to multiple stations based on production needs.
Job duties include:
- Participation in orientation and required employee training
- Participation and training on safety and ISO programs
- Maintaining workstation/machine/operation cleanliness and organization including a final cleanup of the area at the end of a shift
- Proper storage of tools used throughout the shift
- Setting up machine/station and operating equipment in a manner that shows care for the equipment
- Completion of change over logs and maintenance of documentation of machinery
- Responsible for informing management immediately of safety or machinery related issues
- Responsible for notifying management if unsure of equipment or process operations
- Maintaining and using proper personal protection equipment
- Participation in general plant floor clean-ups, re-arranging of machinery, moving machinery, general maintenance of plant floor, locker room, kitchen, plant floor washrooms, etc., as required by management
- Responsible for the clean up of plant floor on a weekly basis, including but not limited to removal of garbage, restroom/toilet cleaning, kitchen clean-up and maintenance, locker room clean up, storage of materials, etc. (usually all these are on a rotation with the other workers and this is done during regular work hours)
- Responsible for regular and reliable attendance including timely arrival for the start of shift in order to be ready to start work on time
- Responsible to follow plant floor rules/policies and notifying management regarding any difficulties in doing so
- CNC Machines / Spray booth / Welding equipment / lift truck experience a plus
Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to move bins (pushing and pulling)
- Ability to use hands and arms freely, and excellent fine and gross motor skills
- Ability to operate machinery and follow procedures
- MUST have a teachable mind and attitude, a willingness to learn
- MUST be able to read, interpret, and follow machinery procedure, and follow processes
- MUST have respect for authority and understanding of chain of command in a plant setting; willingness to receive orders from supervisors and co-workers who may be younger than themselves, but have a higher senior position and experience with the company
- Good communication and basic math skills to communicate with Office Administrator and management including requesting new supplies for the plant, assisting with inventory counting, assisting with delivering shipment to freight drivers when shipments are picked up
- Must be able to pass full DOT physical and drug screen
1st Shift Monday-Thursday
7am-5:30pm
(hours subject to change per management) $18.00+
This position requires a dedicated individual capable of working efficiently in a team environment while maintaining safety standards. Candidates should be prepared to perform physically demanding tasks and demonstrate mechanical aptitude relevant to manufacturing operations.
