American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical night shift travel position requiring at least 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Work in a Medical/Surgical unit within a large hospital setting
-
Patient ratio is 1:12 under a team nursing model, supported by PCCs, LPNs, a medication nurse, and additional RNs
-
Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)

On-call required as needed

Weekend shifts required as needed; weekend block scheduling may be considered and must be discussed during the interview

Floating between like units and campuses within 20 miles may occur, though cross-campus floating is rare

Cerner EMR experience preferred
-
13-week contract
-
Active RN license — must be a Tennessee (TN) state license or a Compact (NLC) license; no pending licensure accepted

Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required; 3+ years preferred

Level I or Level II trauma experience required

Large hospital experience preferred

ADN or higher required for this position

Driver's license required for consideration

At least one completed prior travel assignment required — first-time travelers are not eligible

Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler

If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall within the assignment, candidates must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be covered

All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration and will not be approved if added afterward
