Responsibilities· Conduct in-process and final inspections. Inspections can be office review of fabricator sent QC records or at fabricator’s shop
· Identify and remedy drawing discrepancies with Project Managers and/or engineering dept.
· Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, GD&T, and specifications
· Perform dimensional and visual inspection of shop fabrication, which includes final paint inspections, possible weld preparations and final weld
· Verify dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, and material specifications per engineering drawings and work instructions
· Proficiency with precision measuring instruments ie, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges
· Review welding, machining (CNC, manual), casting, and assembly work.
· Interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and Bills of Material (BOMs)
· Prepare approved materials for shipping, ensuring proper documentation is completed.
· Maintain all records to ensure traceability throughout fabrication process.
· Maintain accurate records of quality control assessments, completing relevant forms for inspected materials.
· Assist in directing safety and environmental hazard activities for a project(s).
· Support the project team in ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
· knowledge of safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.). Ability to develop and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures would be a bonus.
Assist in other departmental functions as needed, promoting a collaborative team environment
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Fabrication, Manufacturing Technician, Maintenance Technician or Fabricator
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, GD&T, and specifications.
· Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
