Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in and check-out procedures using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Collect patient vital signs, document medical histories, and prepare patients for examinations or procedures
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) protocols
- Manage medical documentation accurately, including ICD coding, medical records, and detailed notes in EMR/EHR systems
- Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and coordinate referrals while ensuring smooth patient flow throughout the clinic
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas, including exam rooms and medical supplies inventory
- Support hospital medicine or urgent care functions as needed, including intake assessments and emergency response procedures
Experience
- Proven experience working in a medical office environment with a focus on patient service and administrative support
- Knowledge of dermatology, geriatrics, medical-surgical practices, or emergency medicine is highly desirable
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, ICD coding, and medical documentation standards
- Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, anatomy knowledge, physiology understanding, and medication administration
- Inpatient experience or Level I/II trauma center exposure is a plus for handling complex cases effectively
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR required; additional certifications in pharmacology or hospital medicine are advantageous
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, records management, and healthcare compliance regulations
