Experienced Barista: Specialty Matcha Café

Pay: $21.30/hour base pay + tips,
Position: Part-time, generally under 20 hours/week
About the Role
We are a specialty matcha café looking for a friendly, reliable, and hardworking barista to join our team. We’re looking for someone who is a fast learner, takes initiative, and can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
This is a hands-on café position. Baristas are responsible for more than making drinks and help with all aspects of daily café operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare matcha lattes, specialty drinks, and other menu items according to café recipes
- Provide warm, friendly, and efficient customer service
- Create a welcoming experience and build positive connections with customers
- Take orders and process payments using Square POS
- Prep food, syrups, toppings, and other café ingredients
- Wash dishes throughout the shift
- Clean and maintain the bar, prep areas, equipment, and customer areas
- Restock ingredients, cups, milk, and other supplies throughout the shift
- Take inventory and accurately track café ingredients and supplies
- Receive and organize deliveries as needed
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food storage procedures
- Independently open and close the café when scheduled, including completing all opening and closing duties
- Be comfortable standing and working on your feet for extended periods throughout the shift
- Sweep, mop, take out trash, and complete general café cleaning
- Work efficiently and help teammates during busy periods
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of previous barista or café experience required
- Warm, outgoing personality with strong customer service skills
- Genuinely enjoys interacting with people and helping customers feel welcome
- Friendly and approachable with a positive attitude during busy rushes
- Fast learner who can quickly pick up recipes and café procedures
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working independently and opening or closing the café alone when scheduled
- Reliable and punctual
- Reliable transportation is preferred
- Able to multitask and stay organized
- Takes initiative and notices what needs to be done without always being asked
- Open to feedback and willing to learn
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Team-oriented with a positive and professional attitude
A valid Washington State Food Worker Card is required.
Schedule: Part-time with shifts based on availability and café needs. Weekend availability is strongly preferred.
Pay: $21.30 per hour
