Responsibilities
- Assist with surface preparation including sanding, scraping, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Support painting activities using brushes, rollers, paint sprayers (including airless spray equipment), and conventional spray systems.
- Handle hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, ladders, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare construction sites by masking areas, covering furniture or fixtures, and setting up drop cloths to protect surfaces.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and surface specifications to assist with accurate application.
- Follow safety regulations diligently by wearing respiratory protection, using fall protection when working at heights, and adhering to all safety protocols on-site.
- Collaborate with team members on renovation projects involving plastering, stucco application, masonry work, or restoration efforts to achieve seamless finishes.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction painting or related trades such as carpentry or handyman work is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential!
- Knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and color theory is a plus.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless systems), brushes, rollers, and scaffolding safely.
- Familiarity with surface preparation techniques like sanding, scraping, caulking (including trim carpentry), and primer application.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations including respiratory protection use and adherence to safety protocols on construction sites.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to coating thickness or surface area.
- Experience with industrial painting processes such as coating applications or construction spray painting is advantageous.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings or schematics accurately for precise work execution.
