American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) Pre-Op position in Asheville, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and critical care background.

Position is located in the CV Pre-Op unit within the Heart Tower of a large 815-bed regional referral hospital in Asheville, NC
-
Unit operates with 4 beds at a 1:1 patient ratio
-
Staffing includes RNs with support from a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC), unit secretary, and management shared with the CVOR
-
Shift hours are Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM
-
On-call requirement involves staying late 1–2 times per week

Floating is required within scope of practice and experience

Charting is performed in Cerner
-
GE Carescape monitoring and Fuji ultrasound equipment are used on the unit
-
Active NC or Compact RN license required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)

Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR or cardiovascular surgical nursing experience

Critical care experience is required; Pre-Op experience is a plus

Cerner EMR experience preferred

Proficiency with BCMA (Barcode Medication Administration) required

Strong critical thinking, documentation, and communication skills required

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)

Responsibilities include large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, medication administration, skin assessment, and assistance with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement

Additional duties include transporting patients to the OR and assisting with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep

Uniforms/scrubs are provided by the facility
