Overview
We are seeking a skilled Technician - Truck/Trailer Mechanic to join our team. This role involves performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of heavy-duty trucks and trailers at our service location. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems using schematics and diagnostic tools. A strong focus on safety, customer service, and technical expertise is essential. Schedule would be M-F: 4pm-Midnight or F-M: 10 hour shifts; these hours are flexible.

Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on trucks/trailers: Perform tire swaps/repairs, replace mudflaps, Brakes and handle lighting repairs
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and diesel diagnostics techniques
- Ensure all repairs meet DOT/FMCSA standards and company safety protocols
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to disassemble and reassemble components accurately
- Maintain detailed digital service records and document all work performed
- Support customer service efforts by providing professional communication regarding repair status and recommendations
Skills
- 1-3 years proven experience and extensive mechanic experience in heavy equipment repair
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required. CDL not required but encouraged
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment systems including diesel engines
- Proficiency with schematics for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues
- Comfortable using mobile apps/software for digital work orders
- Ability to use hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers) and power tools efficiently
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance protocols including tire service and alignment procedures
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong customer service orientation
- Ability to lift heavy components safely during repairs and maintenance tasks
This position requires a dedicated technician capable of working independently in various environments while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Candidates should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of vehicle diagnostics and repair processes across multiple types of machinery.
