Under the direction of the Sustainability & Stewardship Coordinator, the Mountain Steward Technician will be part of a team that helps shape Bogus’ landscape and promote sustainable practices on the mountain.

How You’ll Make a Difference As a Mountain Steward, you’ll be part of Bogus Basin’s efforts to reduce waste, improve
Bogus Basins' flora, improve upon initiatives, and more! You’ll play a hands-on role in advancing the resort’s sustainability goals.
Requirements:
Essential Functions of the Job
- Noxious weed pulling and spraying throughout the mountain
- Recycling and compost sorting as needed
- Planting and seeding native flora in disturbed sites
- Assist with new and post construction invasive/noxious weed monitoring
- Maintenance of hiking trails
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to Bogus Basin
- Some education in sustainability, environmental science, environmental education, conservation, leadership, or related field.
- Passion and basic knowledge of sustainability & waste diversion programs
- Must be at least 20 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
- Passion for the Bogus Basin Mission.
- Excellent verbal and written science communication skills.
- Desire to care for open spaces and the environment.
- Comfortable communicating with the public about sustainability initiatives.
- Background check required.
- Availability to work for the rest of the season (August-October)
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to navigate on uneven terrain
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.?
- Ability to work in uneven and variable weather conditions
- Operate vehicles including trucks and side by sides
- Handling hand tools, such as brush cutters and loppers.
Working Conditions and Schedule
- Majority of the time is outdoors, with variable weather conditions
- Full Time Seasonal (August-October) primarily Monday- Thursday with weekends and evenings as needed
