About ASC English
ASC English is an independent ESL school for international adults seeking to improve their English language abilities. We have two locations, two schedules, and up to 8 course offerings. Location and schedule preferences will be discussed during the interview process.
English as a Second Language Instructor
We are looking for dynamic, experienced instructors for in-person ESL courses to international adult learners in Boston, MA. Various levels available. Materials provided. See schedule below for current openings.
**All classes are weekly, Monday - Thursday, and 100% in-person
Current Schedule Offerings:
We are currently looking for substitute instructors. Substitute instructors get first priority once the next session begins.

- Downtown Morning Instructor: 9:00am - 1:45pm, Monday - Thursday, at 65 Harrison Ave, 6th floor, Boston
- Comm Ave Morning Instructor: 9:00am - 1:45pm, Monday - Thursday, at 1106 Commonwealth Ave, Boston
- Comm Ave Evening Instructor: 5:30pm - 9:35pm, Monday - Thursday, at 1106 Commonwealth Ave, Boston

Required Qualifications:
- BA and TEFL Certificate / TESOL degree required
- MA degrees in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related major preferred
- Experience in Adult Education
- Experience in International ESL Education
- Must be currently located in the Boston area
- --> ASC is unable to cover moving expenses at this time
- Must be eligible to work in the USA
- --> ASC is unable to sponsor visas at this time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with international adults in a diverse classroom setting
- Strong knowledge of English language principles, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and strategies
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable
- Overseas teaching experience strongly preferred
Duties:
- Establish a comfortable, communicative classroom environment
- Plan and deliver effective English language lessons to adult students of various ages and proficiency levels
- Utilize assigned textbooks and supplemental materials in order to meet the curriculum
- Create engaging and interactive learning experiences that promote student participation and progress
- Assess students' language skills and provide constructive feedback to support their development
- Develop and implement appropriate teaching strategies and materials to meet the diverse needs of students
- Utilize technology and other resources to enhance language learning and classroom instruction
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Keep records of student assignments and providing feedback for those completed
- Give monthly assessments of student classwork
- Maintain accurate attendance records
- Complete monthly student progress reports
- Attend voluntary quarterly meetings for professional development

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
