About PartsBox
At PartsBox, we work with clean, late-model vehicles and quality automotive parts — not junkyard scrap. We ship parts all over the country, and when it comes to large or fragile items, packaging matters.
We’re a growing, family-style company with locations in South Carolina and Florida. We take pride in doing things the right way — safely, efficiently, and with attention to detail.
If you enjoy hands-on work, building things, and using tools to solve problems, this role is for you.
The Role
We are looking for a hands-on Crating & Packaging Technician to primarily handle large and oversized shipments.
This position focuses on:
- Building custom pallets and crates
- Cutting lumber to size
- Securing large automotive parts for safe transport
- Packaging oversized items in reinforced boxes
- Supporting shipping and warehouse operations
This is not a desk job and not entry-level general labor. We need someone with mechanical ability and common sense who can think through how to protect heavy and awkward items during shipment.
What You’ll Do
Build Custom Crates & Pallets
- Measure parts and determine best shipping method
- Cut lumber using chop saws and other power tools
- Build sturdy pallets and crates to prevent shifting or damage
- Secure parts using screws, straps, bracing, and padding
Package Large & Oversized Items
- Reinforce boxes for bulky items (doors, hoods, bumpers, etc.)
- Wrap and protect fragile components
- Ensure weight is distributed correctly
- Verify structural integrity before shipment
Warehouse & Shipping Support
- Load/unload large shipments
- Use pallet jacks or forklifts (training provided if needed)
- Follow safety procedures at all times
- Keep packaging and shipping area organized
What We’re Looking For
- Experience using saws, drills, and power tools
- Comfortable measuring and cutting wood accurately
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly (team assist for heavier items)
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical mindset
- Attention to detail — small mistakes can cause big shipping damage
- Ability to think ahead and anticipate movement during transport
- Reliable and consistent attendance
Preferred:
- Construction, framing, crating, or carpentry experience
- Forklift experience
- Warehouse shipping experience
What This Job Is NOT
- Not an office role
- Not light packing only
- Not repetitive small-item shipping
This is a hands-on builder role inside a warehouse environment.
