Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and guide them to their tables with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication of guest preferences
- Serve food and beverages promptly, including wine, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks, demonstrating extensive beverage service knowledge
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with food safety regulations and sanitation protocols
- Process cash and credit card transactions accurately while handling cash safely and efficiently
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and address any guest concerns promptly
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting for new guests, and supporting host/hostess duties as needed to ensure smooth operations
- Demonstrate excellent guest relations by providing attentive service, anticipating needs, and creating a welcoming environment for all patrons
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, preferably in upscale or fine dining settings
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is a plus
- Extensive beverage knowledge including spirits, wine, cocktails, and beverage pairing techniques
- Demonstrated ability to upsell menu items effectively while maintaining genuine guest engagement
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction and relationship building
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities
- Previous experience in hospitality roles such as serving, host/hostess, or cashiering preferred but not mandatory
