PCU / Stepdown RN – Day Shift
We are seeking an experienced PCU/Stepdown RN with strong critical-care skills and extensive drip management experience.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- First-time travelers accepted
- Strong vasoactive drip titration experience required
- Must have arterial line experience
- ACLS, BLS/BCLS & NIH
- IV starts, telemetry & conscious sedation experience
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start

- PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown & telemetry
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Vasoactive drip titration
- IV insulin & heparin protocols
- Central, peripheral & PICC line management
- Blood product administration
- CVA care
- Chest tubes
- CPAP/BiPAP & HFNC
- Non-invasive airway and tracheostomy management
- Rapid Response Team experience
- Isolation precautions
Assignment Details
- Shift: 12-hour days
- Hours: 36 or 48 hours/week
- Contract: 13 weeks or longer, through February 27, 2027
- Ratios: 1:3–4
- Weekend: Every other weekend
- Float: Required to sister ICCU unit as needed
- RTO: Maximum 7 days for Aya auto-offer
- Scheduling: No block scheduling
- Scrubs: Navy, White, or combination
- Systems: Pyxis & EPIC
Patient Population
ICU-stepdown patients including respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, post-rapid-response patients, withdrawal, GI bleeds, post-op GYN/GU/GI cases, thoracotomies, neuro/ortho surgeries, and high-risk OB patients.
Drips used: Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine and Neo. Only one pressor drip is managed per patient; patients requiring more are transferred to ICU.
Important
- RTO after booking is NOT allowed and cannot be worked out onsite.
- Call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation and DNR.
- NO BLOCK SCHEDULING.
- Traveler must be available for hospital orientation classes throughout the first week.
Pay: $48.00 - $50.00 per hour
