Job Summary
Position Summary:
Wilcox Farms is looking to hire a skilled and self-motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Great Falls Montana facility. We are a high-quality driven family own organization with a positive focus on teamwork and quality. Our facility is a state of the art egg processing facility with automated egg grading equipment and robotic palatalizing equipment. An employee of the maintenance department performs a variety of maintenance assignments to maintain, install and improve the processes of food manufacturing equipment. They are integrated in our overall operations team to help drive a safe and efficient workplace. Electrical experience and maintenance in manufacturing facility is a plus. We have an excellent benefits package and pay is decided based on experience.
A maintenance technician repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, production machines and support utility equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (These duties are not limited, there may be additional responsibilities added.)
1. Observes packaging/processing equipment/machinery electronic/mechanical to determine cause of malfunction.
2. Performs necessary tasks to equipment/machinery to repair/remove defective parts.
3. May perform a variety of electrical/mechanical tests to determine exact cause of issue.
4. Track issues relating to an automated process system to determine why specific quality issues are happening with product.
5. Make necessary adjusts with process & machine operators to ensure proper operations of machines/equipment/control instruments.
6. Perform (Preventative Maintenance) PM's as instructed on all equipment/machinery/facility.
7. Operates and services plant boilers and other heating, ventilation and air conditioning type equipment.
8. Works with each department providing necessary mechanical support to ensure day-to-day maintenance issues are resolved.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and principles.
- Maintenance experience.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Must have problem solving abilities and be self-motivated.
- Must have good troubleshooting skills.
- Programmable logic controllers (preferred)
Safety Specifics:
- Operates various small hand tools and power tools.
- Lifts heavy material and operates machinery.
- Operates potentially hazardous machinery and is exposed to hazardous chemicals and gases.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and walk for extended periods
- Fine motor manipulation
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs consistently
- Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals
- Ability to work in a wet and temperature-variable environment
