South Hills Auto Group is currently seeking an Automotive Service Advisor/ Writer to join our Dealership. We will offer training! Prior Service Advisor/ Writer experience is preferred, but not required.
Position Summary
The Automotive Service Advisor acts as the primary liaison between customers and the service department. This position is responsible for assisting customers with vehicle service needs, documenting repair requests, coordinating with technicians, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally upon arrival in the service drive.
- Listen to and accurately document customer concerns regarding vehicle performance or maintenance needs.
- Create detailed repair orders and ensure all information is properly entered into the dealership management system.
- Schedule service appointments and manage workflow to ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Communicate vehicle diagnostic results and recommended repairs or maintenance to customers.
- Prepare and explain repair estimates, including parts and labor costs.
- Obtain customer authorization before performing additional repairs or services.
- Coordinate with service technicians to ensure accurate diagnosis and timely repair completion.
- Monitor the progress of repairs and provide status updates to customers.
- Review completed repairs with customers and explain services performed and associated charges.
- Process payments and ensure accurate billing upon completion of service.
- Maintain knowledge of manufacturer maintenance schedules, warranty guidelines, and dealership service procedures.
- Promote additional maintenance or services when appropriate.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service drive environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous automotive service advising, automotive sales, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Basic computer skills and experience using dealership management systems preferred.
- Basic math skills required to calculate estimates, labor charges, and service totals.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing and walking in the service drive and service department.
- Ability to move around vehicles to inspect concerns with customers and technicians.
- Occasional bending, reaching, and entering/exiting vehicles.
- Ability to work in an environment with varying noise levels and temperatures typical of a service department.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
