Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other heavy-duty trucks to transport freight across various routes. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries, proper load handling, and adherence to all safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across designated routes, ensuring compliance with all federal and state driving regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts, roll-off trucks, or other equipment as needed, ensuring cargo integrity and safety.
- Deliver freight efficiently to various locations, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized trailers.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, inspection reports, and route documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries while providing exceptional customer service.
- Follow all safety protocols during loading, unloading, and driving operations to promote a safe working environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid CDL A license; familiarity with manual transmission preferred.
- Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures including load & unload processes.
- Ability to drive long distances on route while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.
- Skilled in operating auxiliary equipment such as forklifts or other loading/unloading machinery when required.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and customers.
