Duties
- Operate a variety of radiologic imaging equipment including X-ray, CT, fluoroscopy, mammography, DEXA scans, PET scans, and nuclear medicine devices with precision and adherence to safety protocols
- Assist in urgent care, emergency room procedures, and Level I & II trauma center settings to support rapid diagnostic evaluation
- Implement radiation safety procedures diligently to protect patients, staff, and yourself during all imaging processes
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process clearly, ensuring their comfort while maintaining aseptic techniques
- Conduct diagnostic radiology examinations with attention to anatomy knowledge and physiology to obtain high-quality images for accurate diagnosis
- Support interventional radiology procedures by operating specialized equipment such as fluoroscopy units and guiding minimally invasive treatments
- Maintain detailed documentation of imaging procedures, patient information, and equipment logs in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians specializing in emergency medicine, cardiology, neurology, and other specialties requiring radiologic expertise
Skills
- Extensive experience with urgent care environments and Level I & II trauma centers demonstrating adaptability under pressure
- Proficiency in sonography (ultrasound), interventional radiography, mammography, DEXA scans, and nuclear medicine techniques
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation processes
- Skilled in operating diverse medical imaging equipment including X-ray machines, CT scanners, PET scanners, fluoroscopy units, and nuclear medicine devices
- Deep understanding of radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation safety protocols effectively
- Ability to perform diagnostic radiology with precision while maintaining patient care standards in high-stakes settings
- Familiarity with emergency room protocols and experience supporting emergency medicine scenarios involving complex diagnostics
- Excellent communication skills for patient care instructions and interdisciplinary collaboration
