Technical Equipment & Inventory Specialist
Position Summary
The Technical Equipment & Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing technical equipment, parts, components, materials, and related logistics activities. This position oversees inventory control, shipping and receiving, equipment tracking, and the movement of parts and equipment to support engineering, manufacturing, field, and project operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical/mechanical and IT background, with the technical aptitude to understand and properly manage equipment, components, tools, instrumentation, computers, and other technical assets. This is a hands-on position requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multiple logistics and inventory activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage incoming and outgoing equipment, parts, components, tools, and materials.
- Oversee daily shipping and receiving, including preparation, documentation, tracking, and verification.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure equipment and parts are properly identified, stored, tracked, and accounted for.
- Coordinate the movement of equipment and parts between vendors, customers, engineering teams, project sites, and internal locations.
- Track equipment assignments, location, status, condition, and availability.
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming technical equipment and components.
- Coordinate returns, repairs, replacements, and warranty shipments.
- Maintain organized inventory and storage areas.
- Support engineering and project teams by ensuring required equipment and parts are available when needed.
- Utilize ERP, inventory management, shipping, and IT systems to maintain accurate records and provide inventory status.
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, IT, and Project Management to coordinate equipment and material requirements.
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, damaged shipments, and other logistics issues.
- Assist with equipment setup, labeling, configuration, and deployment as needed.
- Maintain shipping records, packing lists, inventory reports, equipment logs, and related documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, equipment tracking, and logistics processes.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in inventory management, equipment management, materials, logistics, shipping/receiving, or a related technical environment.
- Strong electrical/mechanical aptitude and ability to understand technical equipment and components.
- Working knowledge of IT hardware, computers, networking equipment, or related technology.
- Experience with ERP, MRP, inventory management, warehouse management, or similar systems.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work hands-on in a technical, engineering, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet shipping and project deadlines.
Pay: $40.00 per hour
