POSITION OVERVIEW
The Buyer/ Planner is responsible for procurement of pharmaceutical materials, supplies, equipment, services, and the smooth and efficient operation of the purchasing function with the objective of improving the quality, price and service provided by company suppliers. This position is 100% on site in Whippany, NJ.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Procuring API, Raw Materials, Packaging Components, Lab supplies, Building Services and Supplies
- Solicit bids/pricing and quotes from suppliers/service providers to ensure the best pricing is obtained for all site requirements.
- Sets up new and maintains existing vendor accounts.
- Identify alternate Suppliers.
- Places orders and ensures that all POs and requisitions for commercial, supplier numbers, part numbers, descriptions, corrections, and maintenance in the computer is performed in an orderly and timely manner.
- Follow-up with suppliers on delivery dates and order issues, to ensure adequate inventory is consistently available.
- Work with Custom Broker to clear International orders.
- Resolves order issues and notifies requisitioner when deadlines will be impacted.
- Maintains open order report for easy tracking of requirements
- Work with Scheduler to ensure all component shortages are reviewed
- Responsible for operating under GMPs and SOPs; maintain confidential information
- Recommend more efficient frequencies of buying to help reduce workload (incoming inspection & QC) and balance with increasing stock amounts.
- Manage Serialization e-deliveries.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager or Department head.

- Must be able to remain sedentary for periods of time.
- Must be able to move about the facility to interact with other departments
EDUCATION
- BA/BS Degree desired but not required
EXPERIENCE
- 5 plus years of purchasing experience in a professional pharmaceutical purchasing environment

Pay: $74,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
