Historic hotel with a full-service restaurant is seeking an experienced Line Cook.
ONLY APPLY if you have prior experience in a full-service restaurant or hotel kitchen.
Qualified candidates must be able to work weekends and major holidays, have a stable work history, and hold a current Florida Food Handler Certificate.
A successful background check is required prior to hire.
JOB BRIEF
Prepare food according to the Executive Chef’s specifications and set up stations for service. Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs with daily kitchen operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, butchering meats)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the kitchen team
- Follow instructions from the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and properly store or dispose of food
- Stock and rotate inventory as needed
- Ensure food is prepared accurately, consistently, and on time
- Comply with all sanitation, safety, and food-handling regulations
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude with coworkers
- Assist with banquet production and execution
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS (REQUIRED – NOT PREFERRED)
- Proven experience in a full-service restaurant or hotel kitchen
- Prior experience as a Line Cook, Restaurant Cook, or Prep Cook
- Fast-food or quick-service experience alone does NOT qualify
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
- Familiarity with industry best practices
