Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC / Laser Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is ideal for a higher-level machinist with strong CNC machine operating experience, laser machine experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The right candidate will be comfortable setting up and operating machines, reading manufacturing instructions, making machine adjustments, inspecting parts, and maintaining strong production and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include setting up and operating CNC machines, laser machines, grinders, honing machines, I.D./O.D. machines, and other production equipment as needed. This person will read and follow manufacturing orders, blueprints, job instructions, and work specifications to ensure parts are produced correctly. They will be responsible for machine start-up, basic preventative maintenance, adjusting feeds, speeds, tooling, grinding wheels, and machine settings as needed. The operator will monitor product quality, verify incoming and outgoing counts, complete daily production and machine reports, document scrap or non-conforming material, and report any machine breakdowns, safety concerns, or production issues to the supervisor.
Requirements
Qualified candidates should have previous CNC machine operating experience and a strong understanding of precision manufacturing. Laser machine operating experience is strongly preferred, and programming experience is a plus but not required. Candidates should be comfortable using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, plug gauges, dial bore gauges, O.D. mics, and other measuring equipment. Must be able to read manufacturing instructions, follow job specifications, make machine adjustments, troubleshoot basic issues, and maintain quality and production standards. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to transfer between machines or departments as production needs require.
