About your new role:
We are seeking a Process Engineer to coordinate manufacturing needs with engineering solutions. Develop guidelines for manufacturing for master setups and find improvements in machine design and material handling for increased profitability of current materials.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities for improvement in methods of thermoforming.
- Provide prioritized project lists with schedules and cost estimates included.
- Document and standardize each improvement in terms of efficiency and quality.
- Train personnel, from management to lead positions, in improved process methods.
- Aid in troubleshooting production problems.
- Help in the investigation of customer complaints that involve the process as necessary.
- Specify process requirements relative to new equipment or machine redesign to guide engineering department efforts.
- Specify process requirements relative to software specifications to guide IT software development or purchases.
- Work with IT to establish ways of documenting standardized thermoforming methods.
- Furnish weekly reports documenting the type and amount of improvements that took place, and summarizing activities, problems, and other pertinent information.
- Use data to develop system improvements that prevent the need for future rework and inefficiencies.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you need:
- Degree in Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field; or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge of thermoforming processes strongly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to analyze data and identify process improvements.
- Effectively communicate verbally, written and in electronic formats to co-workers and vendors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems.
