Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Class A Trailer / Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on Class A tractor-trailers, including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, and air brake inspections to prevent breakdowns and extend vehicle lifespan.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding and hand tools to meet specific operational needs.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently during repair or installation processes.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical systems on farm machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy trucks utilizing automotive diagnostics tools and electrical experience.
- Assist with assembly, disassembly, and replacement of vehicle components ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports of all repairs performed for compliance and future reference.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background in heavy truck repair and diesel mechanics.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including transmissions, suspensions, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and powertrain components.
- Proficiency with schematics, automotive electrical system repair, welding techniques, and the use of power tools.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform vehicle maintenance tasks including tire service, brake repair, alignment adjustments, and hydraulic repairs.
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics software and electrical troubleshooting methods.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate various industrial equipment efficiently.
