Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a field related to public health. Required academic qualification to be eligible for the Teaching Assistant Professor position is a Doctorate from an accredited institution in a field related to specific teaching assignment.

About the job:
Part-time temporary Teaching Assistant Professor or Instructor position in the Department of Applied Human Sciences for the academic year 2026-27. Appointments begin August 24, 2026.
Duties & Responsibilities: 1) Teaching courses based on approved course curriculum in consultation with the department head, specifically HLTH 2200: Research and Evaluation in
Health Science, HLTH 3116: Principles of Epidemiology and Human Disease and/or HLTH 3300: Planning Community Health Interventions; 2) developing assessment measures (i.e., exams, quizzes, presentations, papers); 3) providing students with grade status throughout the term; 4) providing academic advising to undergraduate students; 5) attending bi-weekly faculty meetings; and 6) holding weekly office hours. Instructors will be evaluated by students and faculty.
The Department of Applied Human Sciences (AHS) is one of five departments within the College of Education and Human Service Professions. AHS is the department home to nearly 40 full-time and part-time faculty members with teaching and research interests in multiple degree programs: Childhood Nature Studies, Environmental and Outdoor Education, Exercise & Rehabilitation Sciences, Physical Education, Public Health, and School Health Education.
The curriculum of the degree programs reflects the accreditation standards of the various
disciplines. Students graduate from these degree programs with a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) degree. There are currently over 500 majors enrolled in the degree programs offered by the department. The students in the programs come from Minnesota, Wisconsin, across the Midwest and nationally and internationally. Our department strongly supports international educational opportunities.
