Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and motivated Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you'll support the kitchen management team in overseeing daily operations, ensuring food quality, and maintaining a smooth workflow in a fast-paced environment. Duties
- Assist in supervising daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet high standards of quality and consistency.
- Support inventory control by monitoring stock levels, managing food storage, and assisting with ordering to minimize waste and control costs.
- Help oversee food safety practices and ensure compliance with health regulations across all kitchen activities.
- Train and mentor staff on proper food handling, cooking techniques, POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS, and customer service protocols.
- Manage shift schedules, coordinate team efforts during busy periods, and ensure efficient workflow in casual dining or fine dining settings.
- Contribute to budgeting efforts by analyzing profit and loss reports and assisting with cost control initiatives.
- Support restaurant management in implementing policies for food production, catering events, banquet services, or bar operations as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in quick service or fast food restaurant environments with a strong background in food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience within the food industry is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and cash handling.
- Familiarity with food safety management practices, inventory control, and food handling regulations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and supervise hospitality teams effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with staff members and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Experience managing budgets, analyzing profit & loss statements, and implementing cost-saving strategies.
