We are seeking a motivated Staff Geologist or Staff Environmental Engineer with 2–3 years of environmental consulting experience to join our growing Remediation Team in Irvine, California.

Position Summary
The successful candidate will support environmental investigation and remediation projects throughout Southern California. Responsibilities include field investigations, environmental sampling, remediation system monitoring, technical report preparation, regulatory compliance, and coordination with project managers and clients.
This position offers hands-on experience with a variety of environmental remediation technologies, including:
- Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE)
- Groundwater Extraction and Treatment Systems
- Dual-Phase Extraction (DPE)
- Air Sparging
- Soil Excavation and Remediation
- Environmental Monitoring and Compliance
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental site investigations and remediation field activities.
- Perform groundwater, soil, soil vapor, surface water, sediment, and remediation system sampling in accordance with project work plans.
- Install and monitor groundwater monitoring wells and soil vapor wells.
- Record detailed field observations and maintain accurate field logs.
- Implement and comply with Health & Safety Plans (HASP) and OSHA regulations.
- Assist with environmental data analysis, interpretation, and quality assurance.
- Prepare technical reports, figures, tables, and environmental documentation.
- Support remediation system operation, maintenance, and performance monitoring.
- Coordinate subcontractors, laboratories, drilling crews, and field personnel.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and project management tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in:
- Geology
- Earth Sciences
- Environmental Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Environmental Science (with strong geology background)
- 2–3 years of professional environmental consulting experience performing environmental site assessments, investigations, or remediation projects.
- Geologist-in-Training (GIT) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
- Working knowledge of:
- Groundwater sampling
- Soil sampling
- Soil vapor sampling
- Monitoring well installation
- Environmental field documentation
- Environmental data collection
- Experience preparing technical reports and environmental documentation.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire; company paid)
- California Professional Geologist (PG), Professional Engineer (PE), or Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG) certification, or ability to obtain in the future
- Experience with:
- Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA)
- Underground Storage Tank (UST) investigations
- Environmental remediation systems
- California environmental regulations (DTSC, RWQCB, SCAQMD)
- AutoCAD, ArcGIS, GIS Mapping, or environmental data management software
- Experience with environmental drilling oversight and contractor management
Physical Requirements
This position includes regular field work and requires the ability to:
- Walk over uneven terrain.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including:
- Hard hat
- Steel-toe boots
- Safety glasses
- Gloves
- Respiratory protection (when required)
Requirements
- Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation for travel to project sites.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
