This is a 911 position. Schedule is 12 hour shifts
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented 911 Ambulance Dispatcher to coordinate emergency medical responses efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Receive emergency calls via multi-line phone systems, providing professional and compassionate phone triage to assess the nature of incidents.
- Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and GPS technology to determine precise locations and dispatch appropriate ambulance units promptly.
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies when necessary, providing clear communication and support during emergencies.
- Enter data accurately into dispatch systems, maintaining detailed records of incidents, response times, and resource allocation.
- Manage dispatching operations by prioritizing calls based on severity, ensuring rapid deployment of medical units while maintaining situational awareness.
- Apply medical terminology knowledge during call assessments to gather relevant information efficiently for emergency responders.
- Demonstrate conflict management skills when handling distressed callers or difficult situations with professionalism and composure.
- Maintain security protocols and confidentiality standards in handling sensitive information related to emergency incidents.
Experience
- You must have at least one year of direct 911 dispatch experience.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $17.00 per hour
