Job Summary
EBS Development Inc. is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to support residential land development projects throughout the Treasure Valley. This position is responsible for operating heavy equipment used in site development, underground utility installation, grading, and roadway construction while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
The ideal candidate has experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment, possesses a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and is comfortable transporting equipment, materials, and supporting field operations as needed. This individual takes pride in maintaining equipment, working safely, and contributing to a team focused on delivering high-quality infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, graders, rollers, backhoes, and articulated dump trucks.
- Safely transport equipment, materials, and attachments to and from project sites using CDL-qualified vehicles and trailers.
- Perform excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, compaction, and material placement for residential land development projects.
- Assist with the installation of pressure irrigation (PI), potable water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and other underground utilities.
- Read grade stakes, construction plans, and direction from field supervisors to perform work accurately.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete routine preventive maintenance, including fluid checks, lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs.
- Identify mechanical issues and communicate maintenance needs promptly to minimize equipment downtime.
- Follow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and manufacturer operating procedures at all times.
- Maintain equipment in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
- Support field crews with labor tasks when equipment operation is not required.
- Communicate effectively with Superintendents, Foremen, and other crew members to ensure efficient project execution.
- Complete assigned work while maintaining production goals and high-quality workmanship.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment in residential land development, civil construction, or underground utility installation.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Demonstrated experience operating excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, graders, rollers, and haul equipment.
- Experience supporting the installation of pressure irrigation (PI), potable water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, grading, and subdivision infrastructure preferred.
- Ability to safely load, secure, transport, and unload heavy equipment.
- Strong understanding of equipment safety, excavation practices, utility awareness, and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to perform daily inspections and basic preventive maintenance on heavy equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and report equipment issues.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to assist the crew beyond equipment operation.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding work as needed.
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
