American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical Surgical Oncology position requiring at least 2 years of experience, OCN certification, and Epic proficiency.
-
Inpatient Medical Surgical Oncology unit with 19 beds and an average daily census of 15 patients
-
Adult to geriatric patient population with oncology and hematology diagnoses ranging from diagnosis to end-of-life care
-
Patient ratio of 1:6
-
Specialized care includes oncologic emergencies, DNR/comfort care, chemo precautions, morphine drips, Dilaudid drips, CADD pumps, and PCA pumps
-
Occasional off-service assignments within the facility and possibly at a sister campus approximately 3 miles away
-
EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication
-
Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call requirements
-
Active RN license in Georgia or a Compact state required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with oncology nursing background
-
Current BLS and OCN certifications required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Copies of required certifications must be provided for consideration

Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred

RTO maximum of 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment

Travelers are expected to work all major holidays that fall within their assignment period (up to two); if three major holidays fall within the assignment, the traveler must work two of them — major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day

No RTO may be requested during Spring Break (April 6–12)

No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests will be considered; the day shift schedule is firm

Travelers must be away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a travel nurse
