Job description
Southern Tele-Communications (STC) is seeking a motivated VoIP/Network Technician to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in data networking & VoIP while receiving hands-on training from experienced network technicians. The ideal candidate is dependable, eager to learn, loves working with technology, and interested in networking, VoIP phone systems, firewalls and wireless networks. This position involves working onsite at customer locations to assist with the installation, configuration, and support of VoIP phone systems and network infrastructure, as well as providing remote support at the office.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
· Assist with installation and deployment of VoIP phone systems at customer locations
· Configure and install network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
· Configure basic network settings including DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and TCP/IP networking
· Perform basic troubleshooting of network connectivity and VoIP-related issues
· Assist with rack installation and organization of network equipment
· Install, terminate, label, and test voice and data cabling as needed on job sites
· Knowledge of SonicWall & Ubiquiti/Unifi network equipment is a plus
· Document installations and communicate project updates with team members and customers clearly
· Work as a team player to complete projects on schedule
· Follow all safety requirements including ladder use, PPE, and jobsite safety procedures
· Maintain company tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition
