Job Description
The Quality Intern supports the Quality Control team in maintaining product and process quality standards. This role provides hands-on experience in quality systems, data analysis, process improvement, and compliance activities within a manufacturing, industrial, or service environment.
Shift: 1st shift (7:00 am - 4:00 pm) Monday - Friday w/ overtime as required
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Assist in inspection and testing activities to ensure products meet established quality standards and specifications
Support data collection, analysis, and reporting related to quality metrics (e.g., defects, scrap, yield, rework)
Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams)
Help maintain and update quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and records
Assist with internal audits and compliance checks
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, supply chain) to address quality issues
Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen projects)
Track and monitor corrective and preventive actions
Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and quality standards
Job Requirements:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or other related fields.

Basic understanding of quality principles and concepts

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Process improvement mindset

Preferred exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies and/or experience with statistical tools or quality software (e.g., Minitab)

Knowledge of industry standards (ISO, FDA, or other relevant regulations)
Physical Demands:
Standing and walking for extended periods in manufacturing facilities
Manual dexterity for handling tools and equipment
Lifting and carrying objects up to approximately 25 pounds
Good visual acuity for inspecting products and reading documents
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Stamina to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
