Position Summary
The Business Development Manager leads Hospice of the Golden Isles' growth strategy by building referral relationships, expanding community partnerships, increasing market presence, and supporting business development efforts. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role provides leadership and accountability for Healthcare Relationship Representatives while collaborating with clinical and operational teams to ensure exceptional service and strong referral partner relationships.
This position is responsible for driving referral growth, strengthening strategic partnerships, analyzing performance data, increasing community awareness, and positioning HGI as the preferred nonprofit hospice provider.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and strengthen relationships with hospitals, physicians, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other referral sources.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Healthcare Relationship Representative team.
- Track referral trends, conversion rates, and business development performance metrics.
- Increase community awareness through educational programs and outreach initiatives.
- Collaborate with operational and clinical leaders to support growth and service excellence.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and growth opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare marketing and referral regulations.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Nursing, or related field preferred.
- Five (5) or more years of healthcare, business development, sales, marketing, or leadership experience.
- Hospice, palliative care, home health, or post-acute care experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success building and maintaining referral and healthcare provider relationships.
- Proven leadership experience with coaching, performance management, and team development.
- Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyze data, interpret trends, and develop growth strategies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/sales tracking systems.
- Valid Georgia driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Travel Requirements
Frequent local travel (60-70%) to healthcare facilities, referral partners, and community events. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
