About the Opportunity
The Regional Black Contractors Association (RBCA) is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to serve as the trusted partner to its Chairman. This individual will provide executive, administrative, and operational support while helping advance the organization's strategic priorities and mission.
RBCA is a respected nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening businesses, developing strategic partnerships, and creating workforce opportunities throughout Texas' construction industry. Through advocacy, business development, workforce initiatives, and strategic collaboration, RBCA connects contractors, owners, corporations, government agencies, and community partners to create opportunities that drive economic growth and build stronger communities.

Primary Responsibilities
- Manage the Chairman's calendar, travel, meetings, and daily executive priorities.
- Serve as a trusted administrative liaison by managing communications, prioritizing requests, and ensuring timely follow-up.
- Prepare executive correspondence, presentations, reports, agendas, meeting materials, and briefing documents.
- Coordinate Board of Directors meetings, committee meetings, executive events, and organizational initiatives.
- Track strategic initiatives, action items, and special projects from planning through completion.
- Conduct research, prepare executive summaries, and provide information that supports informed decision-making.
- Draft executive communications, opinion pieces, talking points, sponsorship correspondence, donor communications, and other written materials while coordinating with internal staff and marketing partners.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with members, corporate partners, elected officials, sponsors, donors, and community stakeholders.
- Support membership engagement, fundraising initiatives, strategic partnerships, and special events.
- Represent RBCA with professionalism, integrity, discretion, exceptional customer service, and the highest level of confidentiality.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience supporting executive leadership.
- Experience with a nonprofit organization, membership association, trade association, construction industry, or related environment is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and project coordination skills.
- Outstanding written, verbal, editing, and proofreading abilities.
- Strong judgment, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information.
- The ability to anticipate needs, think strategically, solve problems proactively, and manage multiple priorities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships while exercising diplomacy, tact, and sound judgment.
- A positive, adaptable, and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, virtual meeting software, AI productivity tools, and the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends for meetings and special events.
Work Environment
RBCA is a collaborative, mission-driven organization where teamwork, initiative, adaptability, and professionalism are highly valued. This position requires sound judgment, flexibility, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Normal business hours are Monday through Friday; however, the Chairman may occasionally communicate after hours to share ideas or provide updates. Immediate responses are not expected unless otherwise communicated.
