Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Semi-Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting containers from the port, delivering to local warehouses, and returning empty containers. This role requires experience navigating port terminals, adhering to all safety regulations, and ensuring timely deliveries.
Duties
- Operate a commercial vehicle, including tractor-trailers, for transporting containers in and out of the port.
- Perform port pickups and deliveries efficiently, ensuring compliance with port regulations and traffic laws.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, driving hours, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and DOT regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL with a clean driving record.
- Active TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) required.
- Previous experience driving in and out of port terminals.
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including securing and moving freight.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing routes and schedules.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Must pass a background check as required by company policies.
