Job Summary

Duties
- Operate your own tractor-trailer to haul diverse equipment including refrigerated units, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and more across over-the-road routes.
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight while maintaining compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) standards, and hazardous materials regulations when applicable.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and ensure efficient route driving.
- Load and unload cargo safely using manual handling techniques or forklift equipment when necessary, ensuring proper cargo handling for logistics safety.
- Manage vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure truck safety, including checking for hazardous materials or dangerous goods if applicable.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered during routes.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, load details, and delivery documentation in compliance with legal requirements.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with experience in tractor-trailer operations across various equipment types.
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving on over-the-road (OTR) routes.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or other specialized equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods.
- Ability to manually handle cargo safely and efficiently; forklift certification is a plus.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and execution.
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures including load & unload operations.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently.
