Salary: $44,720 annually
Duties (including but not limited to):
· Manage all aspects of the site’s early care and education operations, including scheduling, budgets, enrollment, and personnel management.
· Develop and maintain excellent relationships with community partners, staff members, children and parents.
· Ensure an effective child development program is maintained for all ages to meet the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of each child.
· Ensure that child care routines are carried out in a manner that is prompt, hygienic, and consistent with State and BGCWN’s policies and procedures. This includes routines related to toileting, hand washing, eating, napping, and transitioning between activities.
· Provide excellent customer services to families via written and verbal communications.
· Teach and coach all direct reports in strategies consistent with Smart Start program policies.
· Plan and direct quarterly staff meetings. Meet weekly to provide updates to Executive Director.
· Monitor and coach staff’s abilities to operate the classroom in compliance with all child care licensing standards and BGCWN Policy Handbooks.
· Maintain staffing to ensure compliance with child care licensing staff-to-child ratios on a daily basis.
· Provide behavior support regarding positive discipline measures and ensure that appropriate guidance and discipline strategies are applied throughout the site.
· Answer phones and emails, responding within 48 hours.
· Conduct regular reviews of classrooms to ensure compliance with licensing and grant-funded standards/ requirements.
· Plan and ensure monthly safety drills are taking place. Plan and teach quarterly staff emergency plan meetings and ensure staff attending are documented.
· Prepare performance reviews for direct reports as required by organizational policies.
· Ensure the safety of children through constant supervision, effective arrangement of space, proper maintenance of equipment, and regular practice of fire drills and other emergency procedures.
· Oversee a clean, open, friendly, and cooperative atmosphere in which children and families feel comfortable and secure.
· Maintain positive and engaging relationships with families, including monthly family events.

Requirements for Qualification:
· All employees must be 21 years of age and older and are required to submit fingerprints to local and federal repositories for background checks and provide a negative TB test prior to start date. The following will be reimbursed by BGCWN if all results are clear:
- Federal background check
- TB skin test clearance
- High school Diploma or equivalent (Required)
Bachelor's or Associates in ECE or related field + minimum of 1 year in ECE + 6 months administrative experience or course or
- Bachelor's or Associates in related field+15 semester hours of ECE/related+12 months in ECE + 6 months administrative experience or course or
- Diploma/GED w/15 semester hours in ECE/ related + 2 years in ECE + 6 months administrative experience or course or
- CDA + 2 years in ECE + 6 months administrative experience or course
- Lead teacher, Assistant Director, or Director position in Early childhood education for at least 1-2 years (required)
This is a full time, 40 hour a week position with occasional weekend events. (Staff development days are subject to different hours).
Requirements for the duration of employment:
- Employees must take the State of Nevada required initial training within the first 90 days of employment.
- Employees must complete 24 hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related subjects every licensing year of employment.
- Proficient in using various computer software programs, including but not limited to electronic member tracking system, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Familiarity entering and processing enrollment applications, and balancing a budget.
- Required to attend and participate in various training sessions and staff meetings.
- Must possess excellent organizational skills, produce and provide data/reports in a timely manner.
- Must be reliable and punctual reporting to assigned tasks.
Physical requirements:
· Must be able to perform duties which require walking, talking, hearing, standing, sitting, and bending for long periods of time. May occasionally be required to kneel, run and/or climb.
· Must be able to use hands and arms to enter data into the computer, use the telephone and other office equipment.
· Must be able to lift, move, manipulate, and/or hold objects of up to 45 pounds. Objects that exceed the 45-pound weight limit require additional assistance when moving, lifting, or manipulating.
