Healthy Pets of Wedgewood is seeking a reliable, compassionate Assistant Kennel Manager to help oversee daily kennel operations and provide exceptional care for our boarding pets.
About the Role
The Assistant Kennel Manager works closely with the Kennel Manager and management team to ensure that every pet receives safe, attentive, and compassionate care. This position combines hands-on animal care with team leadership, facility organization, and excellent client service.
- Assist with supervising, training, and supporting kennel staff.
- Ensure pets receive proper feeding, exercise, medication, and attentive care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kennel environment.
- Monitor pets and communicate health or behavior concerns promptly.
- Help coordinate daily assignments, schedules, and kennel operations.
- Assist with client check-ins, check-outs, and questions.
- Promote a positive, professional team environment.
- Previous animal-care or kennel experience required.
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable handling dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments.
- Dependable, energetic, and able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability for weekends and holidays as needed.
