COPE and PURPOSE
This job description is reviewed regularly and applies to all activities and guidelines for
operations performed by this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES (including authority).
Develop and implement HSE policies, programs, and procedures that adhere to AISC
and SSPC QP3 standards.
Conduct regular HSE audits to identify hazards, non-compliance, and areas for
improvement.
Coordinate and participate in incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are
implemented and documented.
Acts as ranking company representative in dealing with government agencies on safety
and health matters affecting the company.
Provide HSE training to employees and contractors, ensuring they know and
understand company policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE records, including training records, incident
reports, and hazard assessments.
Conduct risk assessments and develop safe work procedures to mitigate identified
risks.
Manage the HSE permit process, ensuring that all permits are obtained and maintained
in a timely manner.
Lead or participate in HSE weekly meetings and communicate HSE performance to
management and employees.
Monitor changes to HSE legislation and standards and ensure that company policies
and procedures are updated accordingly.
Coordinate emergency response and crisis management plans and ensure that all
employees and contractors are trained and aware of their roles and responsibilities.
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS
Regardless of other duties, has a responsibility to follow CPS Houston’s production, safety,
and quality procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
a) Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related
field is preferred.
b) Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE coordination, preferably in the steel or
construction industry.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
