Fresh Family LLC is hiring a hands-on Hazardous Waste Technician / Skilled Construction Worker to join our field team.
This is not a basic labor-only position. We are looking for dependable workers who can support hazardous waste, cleanup, demolition, pressure washing, and environmental service projects while also bringing real construction ability. Ideal candidates have experience in one or more of the following areas: framing, drywall, general carpentry, demolition, remodel work, repairs, painting, punch-list work, or property maintenance.
Fresh Family LLC performs environmental cleanup, hazardous waste support, encampment cleanup, demolition, hauling, pressure washing, graffiti removal, final cleaning, and construction-related field services throughout the region. We are building a stronger internal workforce that can handle both environmental field work and renovation/remodel support.
Safety is a major part of this position. Our crews may work around debris, sharps, needles, biohazard concerns, contaminated materials, heavy equipment, traffic areas, public right-of-way conditions, construction hazards, and active job sites. Team members must be willing to follow safety procedures, wear required PPE, listen to supervisors, communicate hazards, and help maintain a safe work environment for the entire crew.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform hazardous waste, cleanup, demolition, and environmental field-service tasks safely and professionally
- Assist with construction and remodel-related work, including framing repairs, drywall removal/installation, general carpentry, patching, prep, painting, trim, punch-list work, and property repairs
- Load, sort, stage, bag, containerize, and remove debris or waste materials as directed
- Use hand tools, power tools, pressure washing equipment, pumps, hoses, trailers, and other field equipment
- Follow site-specific safety procedures, PPE requirements, hazard controls, and supervisor instructions
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, jobsite hazards, damaged equipment, sharps, spills, or other safety concerns
- Work around potentially difficult jobsite conditions, including outdoor work, debris, needles/sharps, biohazard concerns, contaminated materials, active construction sites, and public right-of-way environments
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers, clients, and other trades
- Support public works, commercial, residential, renovation, and specialty cleanup projects as assigned
Preferred experience:
- Construction labor, framing, drywall, carpentry, painting, demolition, remodel, restoration, or handyman work
- Hazardous waste, environmental cleanup, biohazard cleanup, encampment cleanup, janitorial, pressure washing, or final construction cleaning
- Experience working on commercial, public works, government, or prevailing wage projects
- Ability to operate basic construction tools and field equipment
- Experience driving full-size pickup trucks, larger work trucks, dump trailers, utility trailers, or equipment trailers is a plus
- Experience backing up, parking, loading, securing, and maneuvering trailers is a plus
Certifications preferred but not required:
- HAZWOPER 40
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- First Aid/CPR
- Flagger
- Asbestos, lead, mold, or hazardous material awareness training
- Forklift, lift, or equipment certifications
Requirements:
- Must be reliable, on time, and able to work as part of a crew
- Must be safety-minded and willing to follow all PPE and jobsite safety requirements
- Must be able to perform physically demanding work
- Must be able to lift, carry, bend, kneel, climb, and work on your feet for extended periods
- Must be willing to work outdoors and in dirty or difficult field conditions
- Must be willing to wear required PPE, which may include gloves, eye protection, Tyvek suits, respirators, masks, vests, boots, hard hats, or other job-specific protection
- Must be able to follow safety rules, jobsite instructions, and supervisor direction
- Must have reliable transportation to Kent, WA and/or assigned job sites
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Must be willing to travel to project sites as needed
Schedule:
- Part-time to full-time opportunities depending on workload and project schedule
- Day shift, with occasional early starts, weekends, overtime, or special project hours as needed
- In-person field work only
Pay:
$30.00–$56.80 per hour.
Pay depends on experience, certifications, assigned role, project type, and applicable wage requirements. Some projects may have different rates, including prevailing wage rates where applicable.
