Caldwell County Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Health and Physical Education Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Health and Physical Education curriculum that aligns with state standards and promotes student engagement.
- Create lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students have access to quality physical education and health instruction.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their growth and development in physical skills and health knowledge.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect for others.
- Organize and supervise physical education classes, sports activities, and health-related events, ensuring student safety at all times.
- Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and parents to promote health and wellness initiatives within the school community.
- Stay current with best practices in health and physical education, incorporating new techniques and technologies into the curriculum as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and assessments, submitting reports as required by school administration.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and school meetings to enhance teaching skills and contribute to school improvement efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Physical Education, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid teaching certification in Health and Physical Education for middle school level.
- Strong knowledge of health and physical education standards, practices, and current trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively and create a supportive learning environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the classroom and school community.
- Experience in teaching or coaching at the middle school level is preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification upon hiring.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
