Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and machinery. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and automotive diagnostics tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to ensure proper fit and function.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs on farm machinery, heavy equipment, and service vehicles.
- Replace or repair brakes, alignments, tires, powertrain components, HVAC systems, and perform general vehicle maintenance to ensure safety standards are met.
- Operate heavy equipment safely for testing or movement purposes while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed and parts used; ensure compliance with safety regulations and OEM specifications.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with heavy-duty diesel engines and automotive repair is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brake systems, and HVAC units.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals; ability to interpret OEM specifications for accurate repairs.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, assembly work, and use of hand tools or power tools.
- Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, farm machinery, industrial equipment or similar machinery.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation for testing or troubleshooting purposes.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repairs and maintenance needs.
