Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Quality Manager to lead our quality assurance and control initiatives within our construction operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems to ensure products meet rigorous industry standards and regulatory requirements. Your leadership will drive a culture of excellence, fostering cross-functional collaboration to uphold the highest quality standards in production processes. Responsibilities
Total Quality Ownership and Leadership
– Engage in all aspects of the Quality program from preconstruction into construction and through closeout to ensure consistency and success.
– Provide overall leadership and a willingness to take full ownership of the Quality team and its deliverables.
– Create vision for quality execution; set and orchestrate team priorities & efforts.
- Provide oversight and management of all quality processes, procedures, and tools to ensure consistency throughout the project and Company.
Constructability & Quality Executionon
– Ensure processes and procedures are in place and being carried out effectively to validate proper installation of materials.
– Review, validate, and communicate installations across all trades.
– Ensure the submittal review process involves the quality effort ahead of installation to identify concerns early.
– Gain and maintain exposure to complex trades on the project to support informed quality decisions.
Quality Program Management
– Own and drive implementation of the project-specific Quality program.
– Engage with O/A/Es to continuously understand project quality goals and track strategies to meet and exceed them.
– Ensure the project schedule is tracking appropriate quality milestones and activities.
– Proactively adjust systems and tools as necessary to meet the needs of the project.
- Add value with best management practices and lessons learned.
Quality Documentation
– Manage and oversee data entry into project-designated quality software.
– Own coordination and resolution of Completion Lists, Punchlist, NCRs, Observations, and Deficiency Logs.
– Stay in sync with the Operations team to quickly adjust quality team's focus to top field priorities.
- Demonstrate and enforce proficiency in professional writing skills across the quality team.
Inspections
– Proactively coordinate with 3rd party inspection companies to set the team up for success.
– Ensure the team's inspection process is developed to execute in a well-defined and well-documented way.
– Ensure inspections are performed to support the project schedule.
- Perform and lead periodic audits of the quality team, trade contractors, and self to ensure process compliance.
Risk Management
– Understand all aspects of contract documents; Exhibit One & Exhibit G in particular.
– Ensure appropriate management and documentation of quality issues to mitigate company risk.
– Recognize cost and/or schedule impacts from quality issues and communicate them promptly to project leadership.
- Stay a step ahead of quality risk through proactive planning and field engagement.
Scheduling & Field Team Support
– Ensure the quality schedule aligns with and supports the overall project schedule.
– Interact with the field team to create a shared vision for quality delivery across all phases.
– Stay engaged with trade contractors to escalate quality issues for timely resolution.
- Provide thorough documentation of quality issues when needed.
