Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction throughout their visit. This role requires a strong understanding of dental hygiene practices, infection control procedures, and the ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment.
Days/Hours: Tuesday, 9:00 AM–7:00 PM, and Saturdays, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM (every week or every other week, depending on availability).
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations to assess patients' oral health.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in the management of infection control protocols within the office.
- Collaborate with dentists to develop treatment plans for patients, including referrals for specialized care when necessary.
- Utilize Eaglesoft software for patient management and record keeping.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications
- Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, dental office systems, and general dentistry practices.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus.
- Experience with medical coding is advantageous but not required.
- Proficient understanding of infection control standards and procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patient information as per HIPAA guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
