JAYS Legacy Homecare is looking for a dependable, compassionate, and organized Assistant Area Director (AAD) to join our team!
This is a great opportunity for an experienced caregiver who is ready to take on additional leadership responsibilities while continuing to make a direct difference in the lives of our clients.
What You'll Do
As an Assistant Area Director, you'll help ensure our clients receive safe, compassionate, person-centered care while supporting the caregivers who provide it. This position supports clients and caregivers throughout Kewaunee and Door Counties.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead & support staff — Supervise, support, and evaluate caregivers while promoting teamwork, professionalism, and open communication.
- Coordinate schedules — Assist with caregiver scheduling and help ensure appropriate coverage for client needs.
- Support clients & families — Build positive relationships with clients, families, guardians, and care partners.
- Oversee quality of care — Conduct client assessments, monthly onsite visits, and follow-ups to ensure care plans and client needs are being met.
- Train & develop caregivers — Assist with onboarding, hands-on training, shadowing, and cross-training staff.
- Maintain accurate records — Review schedules, timesheets, client files, notes, and other required documentation.
- Communicate & problem-solve — Keep leadership informed of client or staff concerns, incidents, changes in condition, and other important issues.
- Provide direct care when needed — Step in to support clients when staffing needs arise, including occasional evenings, overnights, and weekends.
- Support community growth — Assist with marketing, provider outreach, career fairs, social media, and developing community partnerships.
- Help maintain safe, clean environments — Ensure client homes, supplies, equipment, and materials are properly maintained.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
- At least 18 years old
- Experienced in caregiving, with at least 1 year of caregiving experience
- Reliable, dependable, professional, and compassionate
- Comfortable leading and supporting a team
- A strong verbal and written communicator
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Able to plan and provide appropriate, enriching activities
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Flexible and willing to adjust to staffing and client needs
- Willing to commute between Kewaunee and Door Counties as needed
You must also have:
- A valid driver's license
- Current auto insurance
- A clean driving record
Schedule & Flexibility
This position primarily works Monday–Friday, with weekends as needed.
The schedule may include:
- Morning shifts
- Afternoon shifts
- Evening shifts
- Occasional overnight shifts
- On-call availability for emergencies or staffing issues
Flexibility is an important part of this position.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Lift up to 50 pounds using proper techniques
- Stand for extended periods, including up to 5 hours
- Run up to 100 yards in an emergency
- Adequately see and review paper and digital documents
- Adequately hear and communicate with clients, staff, and the public
