Suwanee Prep Academy is looking for a passionate, dependable, and experienced Lead Three-Year-Old Teacher to join our team! We are seeking an educator who loves working with young children and is committed to creating a safe, nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience working in early childhood care and education
- Degree or formal education in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
- CDA credential required, or willingness to obtain a CDA within 6 months of hire
- Strong knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching practices
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Reliable, organized, patient, and professional
- Ability to work collaboratively with families, teachers, and administration
- Must meet all applicable childcare licensing and employment requirements
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Lead Teacher will be responsible for the overall supervision, management, and educational development of the classroom and students, including but not limited to:
- Providing complete supervision and care of students throughout the day
- Maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
- Creating and implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Following the center’s curriculum and daily classroom schedule
- Completing daily reports, classroom documentation, and student records accurately and on time
- Tracking and supporting children’s developmental milestones
- Supporting children’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development
- Establishing and maintaining positive classroom routines and expectations
- Using positive guidance and appropriate behavior-management strategies
- Communicating professionally and consistently with parents and families
- Maintaining required classroom records and documentation
- Participating in staff meetings, training, professional development, and center events
- Working collaboratively with the assistant teacher and other staff members
- Following all center policies, procedures, health and safety practices, and licensing requirements
- Maintaining appropriate ratios and ensuring the safety and well-being of every child
- Assisting with classroom preparation, cleaning, organization, and closing/opening responsibilities as assigned
- Performing other duties related to classroom operations as assigned by administration
